Scope
The facility was designed by Tymoff + Moss . Chris Brandt (Syncon Business Development) was the Executive Vice President at another large GC firm during the entire design and construction. Artificial “Astro Turf” field surface, concession building with restrooms, concession stand, and general pre-game gathering area.
Challenge
The challenge for this project was the fabrication, delivery, and installation of the Astro Turf. The product was a specialty item and only manufactured as needed for individual projects. There was no stockroom supply to be utilized.
Solution
Once we identified the possible delivery issue, we ordered the product without final infield measurements. When the product arrived, we had to make very difficult in-field modifications to the dimensions of the product to fit the actual field measurements.
